Robert Talbot has successfully met the criteria required to obtain a University Blue. I attended the committee meeting and answered their questions regarding his contribution to the club and to the university.

So far, the feedback looks good, and we will hear tomorrow sometime if he has been awarded the Blue.

If so, he will be the first archer at Sydney Uni to receive the award since the club started in the 1970's.

~fingers crossed~

According to the information, he has passed the preliminary process ok, and they will officially notify him by Letter this coming week, so it's an unofficial status that Rob has indeed received the award.

A Univeristy Blue is an award given for outstanding excellence in a particular field. The criteria is determined by agreement of the club and the sporting body of the university, and the applications are placed before a board of Blues trustees and a majority decision is required for someone to be awarded the Blue.

A University Gold is an award given for outstanding service in a club, with a seperate criteria regarding duration of seruvice and roles etc.

So far, we haven't had a Gold award either.

Congratulations!

I'm not exactly sure of the criteria, but know of only a few non-olympians that have received one at UTS.

Set up a state indoor single handedly? You legend! ...alright so maybe Don helped a little

Great contributions to uni and state archery, as well as brilliant personal achievements!

Well done Rob!
