does anyone experience this when focusing? Or is it just me and my mind playing tricks?
I heard it happens to competitive rifle shooters too.

I hear many coaches saying you should visualise a tunnel. I'm never able to do it, but if you are, Great!
Apparently its better if your tunnel is just the "X"

the tunnle focusing is just visualising a tunnle to the X and block out all the others therefore you are totally focused on that point, so if you try hard and try picture the tunnle all the way down to the X you might be able to do it, takes massive amount of concentration to do it so i guess so i never bothered  and tried a few times didn't work so just gave up

I've had this a number of times, not only the "tunnel vision" but have also blocked out the surrounding sounds. (only focusing on the point I wanted to hit)
On the rare occasion that this has happened, it's usually been a great shot.
Anyone else experienced this too?

So it's a good thing and not a bad thing as I expect it. Does that mean I have achieved a higher level of concentration?
I think it happens to me more often than most. I feel like it's an induced rather than some random event. And the result is I hit the area I intend to hit and not the point I intend to hit.
