Hey at last weekends state trial, i noticed my 30 small scores were really poor as in around 10 to 15 points less than what others who i shot simelar scores to at the other ranges. What ways are there to improve at 30 ?
Cheers

Hmm looks like i put this in the wrong section but shooting more 10's is easier said than done.

If you can shoot 285 indoor you can shoot 340+ at 30m.

Get fit so you don't tire at the end of a FITA, and make sure you keep mentally alert, don't slack off because it's an 'easier' distance :)

come shoot at AIM for a start
30 is my best by far, the fact i shoot it way too much at aim probably helps.

i'll pass... if i shot at aim, my 90 and 70 would suck, which are by far my best distances, and after today, 50 is up there too, none of which i could do at aim... and i can shoot 30 at mac too... wait... so what does aim have to offer me?

Make sure your peep isn't set too low.
I've been caught in the past shooting too low a peep, which results in me shootng great for 90,70 & 50...........but I end up feeling squashd up at 30 and shoot like **** :D

Most important thing about shooting 30m is to relax. Don't get too het up on aiming, as you will not be able to do it well. 30m is a 10 game, just don't think that whilst you're shooting lol. Also, don't think about your score or the score you want (this goes for all distances) however I find it hurts most at 30m, as when I start thinking about how many 9s I can still shoot and break 350, it rarely happens.
Relaxing is key, however you must still be focussed. Don't tense up.
