G'day,
I finally got no resistance pass thru's on my "Block"
Got maybe 1000 ( If lucky) field points, and maybe 80 broadheads.
What a piece of crap!!
False advertising as only the Americans can muster.
Live and learn .

Gotta find another SIMILAR product, now. Any suggestions?

i can not think of a better butt than 'the block' for shooting and tuning broadheads. if you want it to last, use it sparingly.
it's your own fault for wasting it on feild points.

Dean,
that didnt make sense.
Do you like "The Block"?
If you shoot field points into it, it is a good product. If you shoot ANY broadheads into it,you can throw it away real quick.
It is advertised as "accepting thousands of field points and broadheads."
That is my problem with it.
Somewhere on here are some photo's of "The Block" after only a few broadheads.

I think this comes down to the right tool for the job.
I have a The Block target and have owned it for 5 years.
It still stops arrows well, but I have put maybe 200 shots into it.
None were field tips or broadheads.
Where the Block stands out is as a warmup hunting target. Take it out to your hunt camp site, setup and fire a few shots to check settings etc and then head out into the bush.
For shooting heaps of practise it won't stand up and I agree a full foam target or a shrink wrap butt would be better. If using alloys a layered stramit would be the best.

Yep,
I'd agree with that.I also agree that it's good for field tips But it's advertised as good for broadheads.
But it doesnt matter now! It's rooted!!
I spoke to someone at a foam mattress company in Adelaide, recently, and they said that an archery club in Adelaide had bought some foam to use as target butts.Does anyone know which club this might be? So I can get some info, on this foam.Good or bad? All I know is that it ain't cheap!
There ya go.
Thanks,
Mark

If you are thinking of getting foam from a matress company don't get polyurethane foam. It tends to bunch up on the point and then tear as the arrow penetrates further. Used some foam from an old lounge suite as an experiment. A neat 6mm hole in the front and a 12mm+ hole at the back and a plug of foam on the ground. Looked like a dum dum had hit it. The best foam is polyethylene - not cheap and will still get shot out. Another VERY good material is cut up inner tubes from your local tyre place. It does not pack down the way that cloth will. Our club has been using this for 5 years and have not replaced any. Lots of bits of rubber with holes in them but they still work. :D
AAC are getting a few foam butts I hear.

I bought a nylon wool bale and filled it with shrink wrap, and the remainder of my Block.Maybe the Blocks manufacturers will pick up the idea.HE HE..
I emailed AAC about the foam. Waiting on a reply. Thanks Pete.
