This is Ipswich in Qld right? Same weekend as IFAA at Lakeside. I am never going to get to shoot 3D at this rate  :-?

Bad organisation, especially when there both State Titles. and with the World IFFA coming up soon in Qld. I think 3DAAA or the Ipswich club, should have changed this date a long time ago, shame on you.

Marcus

Why? Are they not different organisations?

2Dogs

Yes they are.

But for fundraising purposes, it's good to get as many people to the event as possible

Yes they are.

But for fundraising purposes, it's good to get as many people to the event as possible :wink:No doubt.
Just in Vic whenever I said "hey that's a bad time for a shoot, it conflicts with the AV shoot" I was met with "3D is it's own body blah blah and can stand on it's own blah blah".
Sucks for the Ipswich club if it's usual supporters are off supporting ABA instead.

We have to work with the dates set by 3DAAA. There is usually not much room to manouvere.

On the comments about the dates set by 3DAAA. This was not the date that 3DAAA put forward. The Ipswich club requested this date so that they could get assistence from the local council for the May day weekend.

Hey guess what; that's life. There is always going to be something else on when you have already made your plans. Just ask my wife... You'll either be there or you won't. 3D is it for me; I'll be there..

Their is quite a few archers that compete in both disciplines, and as this year is a big year for IFFA, some top competitors that would normally shoot in the 3DAAA Qld Titles, will be shooting in the Qld IFFA titles. so to win the Qld 3D championship, would you consider yourself to be the 'best of the best', or the 'best of whats left' .

Lyle

Only just got home after packing cleaning and all the necessary things that need doing for a big shoot.
Grant Buckeridge won sighted with a perfect 50.
Jeff Else won barebow.
Will post some scores tomorrow.
We had just on 100 shooters which when taking into consideration the IFAA event at Lakeside is not too bad.
The archery gods were very kind as it started to rain late this arvo just as everyone was either packed up and gone or that close to it it didn't matter.
Thanks to everyone who attended. I think we out did ourselves with ranges thanks to Ian Brown, Rob Newton and crew.
I hope everyone had a great time.
Watch out for an article in the next 3DAAA newsletter.

OK some scores from the weekend.
Note due to the trickiness of the courses and everyones slack shooting :D no perfect 100's !!!
Dwayne Callon top scored for the weekend (both days I think) with 455.

MBO - Grant Buckeridge 453, Brendan Lazarus 445, Norm Bardell 439.
FBO - Jo Radford 384.
MBR - (a field of 23) Greg Noble 422, Jeff Stevens 413, Mike (bear) O'Neil 404.
FBR - Sally Donnelly 409, Teresa Noble 390, Jacqui Callon 377.
MSR - Len Butler 450, Ivan Gorshkov 432, Peter Popovic 413.
MBF - Dwayne Callon 455, Al Skinner 416, Phil Noble 399.

Want more, wait until the next 3DAAA newsletter comes out or scores are posted in their website. :D

Again our club thanks all those that came and made the weekend so great. Thanks to the range setters Ian and Gavin Brown, Rob Newton and their crew. Thanks to the club members who helped all throughout, John and Ben Taylor, Rob and Sarah Collins.
Thanks to Alison for doing the secondhand table again. It does work and needs to continue with the other shoots - to get all that excess gear moving around.
Thanks to the archery gear shops - Canga and Casino Archery for their presence and kind donations to the raffle.

Whew, who have I forgotten, probably heaps but thanks again to all.

Well were're back at it again this year.
3DAAA newsletter is not out yet with our add, so I'll bring it up again here.

Weekend of 5-6 May.

We've recovered a bit after the fires burnt the grounds to a napalm blackened earth.
We now have two nice new shower stalls courteousy of Metalcorp for the steel and Ian and Gavin Brown for the concreteing and Tynan Harris for the construction. So nice new showers with hot water available for the campers.

The ranges are set and ready for targets, catering under control, raffle, admin etc.
Good weather on order.
Just waiting for everyone to turn up and have a great time.

Good on you Shermo. Ipswich always puts on a challenging shoot. It's worth the trip.
