Hi,
I have been doing Archery for 18mths now, of that time I have been shooting recurve I love the feel of recurve, compound was ok but the mechanical release didnt feel natural. I am now moving on from preloved bows to a new one I am considering the winact riser with cheaper limbs and build the bow in time. I dont really want to start at the evolution2 riser although it comes highly recommended. My budget is not huge so starting with good equipment is important. Could anyone help me with on the ground knowledge about this riser, thanks.

Good basic riser. Won Women's gold in the hands of Yun Mi Jin in Sydney 2000.

I am shooting the old Winact and like it. It is stiff and light.
The new Winact is lighter and the balance is different.

The new one feels a bit softer. not sure if it is better or worst.
With the new cut out holes, in fact, there are some very thin positions at the lower part of the new winact. that worries me a bit

:) I am interested to hear if anyone knows of an older style Winact riser being available? I like the more sloid version of this brand of riser. Redline350

honestly speaking, i'd go for the old version of the riser. I think it looks better. (yun mi jin uses the old version right?
But if you can't, seriously i don't think the thin sections will snap easily. It's made of metal after all, and normally would have a good ability to resist tensile stress and shock. (i do materials engineering, so i know the details)
anyway, if you don't like the new one and can't get hold of the old one, then honestly speaking i'd advise you to save up a bit more and get a better riser (i'd do that if i were you even if the old one is available)

Ever considered the Win & Win Exfeel? Looks sexier to me. Similar curves to the NX Xpert.

Yun Mi Jin went from a Winact to an Exfeel, and now shoots for Samick.

I did see her on the Samick website but she's been removed from the Company With Players section. Strange.
ps. Wonder whether they know what the term 'player' is loosely taken as sometimes.
