We have a very fine prize indeed for the Internode fun event. It will be well worth trying to win.
Thankyou once again, Internode.

(You may remember that Internode also kindly sponsored a fun event at the 2005 Nationals).

Or is it a secret?

Fun events are very fun.

I assume a personal thx must go to andrewc (or what ever my typing is going to show)

Is it 40gigs of pr0n?

Fun events are very fun.

Kind of what you look for in a fun event!

James, any indication so far of what event is going to be shot on which day?

Which event on which day: still making up my mind.
They will be at the conclusion of the target round.
I am thinking that for the Internode event we should have Brocky shoot the first arrow (he won the Internode event last year).
(Heckling will be allowed - in fact encouraged).
I will be the commentator, as was the case last year.

1993 has a bit to do with it.

Which are the events that will be shot then? (so I can decide what I need to bring :) )

Normal target gear will be good for most of them.
Probably a good idea to bring an expendable arrow as well.

As was the case last year, I will set all the rules and be the judge of any disputes. As was also the case last year, protests will be permitted but will be totally ineffectual.
(In this particular case, the judge is probably able to be influenced in appropriate ways - vision goes blurry after sufficient good wine).

The fun events planned are:

Urban Archery: The "V"
(Urban was also a sponsor for 2005)
We will, of course ask Marcus to nominate a worthy person to shoot the first arrow.

Alcock and Pierce: 70M clout

Abbey Archery: Wand

Internode: Walkback

Also looking to run a steel pig (so be sure to bring an expendable arrow - unless, of course, you are expecting to win).

The iron wombat/steel pig was the best fun shoot I've ever done!!!

It was so much fun, and I dont think I've ever wanted to shoot so accurately at 70m before lol. Nothing like a little destructive encouragement!

That shoot comes strongly recommended.

it was the best fun ive ever had breaking an arrow! and it was split anyway, and therefore expendable

Excellent, I have a very special X10 that I have made up for that exact purpose 8)

I've only just seen this thread...

No. Internode is (much) more than andrewc.

You'd be wanting to thank Simon Hackett (owner/founder/MD) for being nice, and Kate Harris (marketing chick) for trusting me with money to buy the prize and organising freight because my lazy arse went on annual leave without sorting everything out :)

We had 2 fun shoots today, The Abbey Archery wand at 70m and the TCAG Iron Turkey (thanks Grubby), John Dudley won both events. The iron turkey was great with John putting 2 arrows into the middle at 90m.
I have some great photos of arrow destruction, as soon as I can get someone to do it for me I will get them on the web

We had the Alcock and Pierce fun clout yesterday with everyone trying to hit the clout at 70m using their own arrows and some tiny 20lb plastic longbows, very funny to see X10s being launched from these bows. It was won by a longbow archer from Adelaide. I later saw him trying to fit his longbow into the prize which was a compound bow hardcase. ( I think he is going to use it for a suitcase now)
