I'm thinking on getting a compound for myself, to do IFAA competition....here in Portugal there are some used ones, and my prefered are:
Martin Phantom II
Martin Tracer
PSE Beast
The prices is se same for them all. Does anyone shot with any of them? Any opinions?

Used a Martin Jaguar which should be quite similar to the Phantom but cheaper as a spare for a while. Pretty good bow. Thinks the Phantom II should be very OK.
You might consider getting a used bow on www.ebay.com if price is an issue. Have bought two bows from there which have turned out quite nice (The jag and a Scepter II) Friend of mine got a HOYT ProElite from there
in perfect condition which is very nice indeed. :bday:

Well, these bows are all sold up, so i'm thinking on getting a new, instead, of a used one. Due to a tight budget, the options are:
Martin Jaguar
Limb Style: Magnum
Axle to Axle: 32 1/2"
Brace Height: 7"
Dyna-Cam 25-30" 305FPS
Martin Saber
Limb Style: SE
Axle to Axle: 32 3/4"
Brace Height: 8 1/2"
Dyna-Cam 26-31" 300FPS
Diamond Rapture
Axle to Axle: 33 1/2"
Brace Height: 7 1/4"
Solitaire Cam 26-31" 308FPS
My primary objective is to use it on IFAA competitions, FU category, and maybe in FITA. So, wich one do you think, or know, it's better?

I would go the Diamond . In myho Diamond are much better bows than Martin , less noise , hand shock smother. :D

The sabre is excellent value for money and has a brace height that exudes forgiveness, they also feel nice in the hand.

The Diamond is a little quieter which I would take into consideration if I was hunting. Out of those the Martin Saber would be my pick and Martin make as good a bow as Diamond. One advantage of the Jaguar is that you get the complete set of draw length modules for it which makes it a little easier to sell later.
The Diamond would be a good choice if you have a draw length of say 27" or less as brace height would suit short draw archers better, especially for beginners.

My draw lenght is of 28". The fact of the raputure being faster dont matters to mucg?

This does happen very rarely with cast risers (saw plenty of snapped hoyt risers in my time) where a small air pocket forms as it is being cast, did you see how quickly martin responded? Now do you really want me to do a search for broken bowtechs/diamonds on AT?

Bows break, that's why they have warranties.

Very true.
Gear from all major manufacturers fails from time to time.
I've seen bows break from every major manufacturer I can think of.
IMHO it's how well the company deals with the problem that is the most important part.

Ok...now i know that both bows breaks...my seller prefers the saber, because it is quicker (is own measurements). I think the Rapture is better, beacause it is less reflex. But speed isimportant, for 90 meters... What should i take more in consideration?

Well, new bow on the sight...the seller have a '03 Bowtech Stalker:
ATA: 33 1/8"
Brace height: 8 1/8"
Draw lenght: 27-32"
Mass weight: 2.90lb
IBO: 298-306 FPS
Is it better than the Saber and the Rapture, for FITA-IFAA shooting?

Is it true that the martin saber cams shred the serving of the string?
