On an Apex 7 would a smaller diameter cable be of any help on the serving problem? On an Apex 7 at 50-54# max draw weight what would be the minimum number of strands of 452X that you would recommend. Would like to reduce the diameter but don't want to have problems with stretch or creep.
Thanks,

Perhaps try a 18-20 strand and see how you go.

I think I recall John Dudley saying the standard string was 18 strands, but he uses 22 FWIW...

I have been using 16 strands of 450 plus on my Apex 60# for twelve months many thousands of shots with no problems.Serve with 3D serving and it fits in the cam groove a whole lot better than the original Baracuda string did.

Bob Rawlins450 Plus is a really thick material, equivlent to a 32 strand 452x string.
You could go down to 10-12 strands easily.

Marcus,
I used the 16 strands of 450 plus for two reasons, firstly to fit into the cam groove without excesive play and secondly to stay as close as possible to Mathews specifications as I could.Mathews must of had a good reason for supplying the original 30 strand string.

Yep, it's quieter.
450Plus has 100% stability at 12 strands,

Que? Is that like saying that a certain recurve exerts 100% of its power at 26" or whatever that was?

What it means is that you will see no creep after 12 strands.

I was really just interested in strands on the 452X because that is what I have on hand. Hardly anyone around here uses 450 plus any longer. If I was going to use something other than 452X with thicker strands, I would probably go to Ultra Cam.
Thanks,
