I'm new to archery. I got my first bow on my birthdat this past Sunday.
I chose to shoot with a recurve bow. I really like. I find it very relaxing and it's something else that I can do with my boys. I wanted to get into it or love of them. I only had one shooting session since I got my new bow,I can't wait to shoot again.

I really enjoy it, the real prize is the gratification you get from having a good shoot. When it stops being something you enjoy, when it stops being fun, it's time to stop altogether. IMHO

Hi ArcherAngel,

Welcome to the forum. :D

You right to a degree if its no longer fun you need to ask why. if you used to enjoy it, what changed? are you just shooting like crap or has your form gone to poo? i find when i shoot well i enjoy it, when i dont shoot well i go home frustrated. so i guess if you do find yourself not enjoying it get a good coach or a knowledgable archer from your club to show you what your doing wrong and more importantly.. how to do it right.

anyways just a few thoughts brought to you by the letters Zed and the number 8. :)

I guess it depends on what you want out of it.
I have goals I would like to achieve, some of them I have now, and had I quit when it wasn't fun I would never had achieved them.
Archery is like many things, it has it's ups and downs, but I have one rule, never quit when I'm down, otherwise I may miss coming out the other side better.

That's what I meant. Sorry if I was unclear. If you have a love for it,
that's your motivation, and even you have a bad shoot, it doesn't stop being fun. Does this make sense ?

I've been a little distracted lately.
