Pat Coghlan just shot 592 indoor for a new State record but not (as we understand it) a new national record which is 590 by Clint because it was a club shoot, not a state ranking shoot.
great shooting,
what changed!! home made drop away rest. bits brought from Mitre 10 the same day. It , however, looks very sweet. The same set up as Clint and Zoron.
arrows : X7's you wont believe it when I say they were his old x7's from which he took the bunny thumpers off and cleaned the blood off the fletches. After hitting many rocks and all kinds of things they still spun perfect on the spinner.!!!

Zoran & Leigh picked up that my fletch clearance was not great at the National's (after the field had finished :x ).
I changed my rest to a drop away on Saturday, (yes I copied Zoran, Clint, and Dennis's set ups) and Bobs your uncle it worked.
I hope it keeps working...... :D
About the record, I am sure others have got good scores that haven't been able to claim them, I am just stoked I got the score.

Pat, congratulation you are now Indoor Jedi master so don't give up the Jedi secrets :) (kidding).
It's the archer not the rest. But it's nice when you have a good brush, your paintings will be much beautiful
Nice score mate, don't worry you'll shoot that on registered tournament one day, easy.
I wish we have more Indoor tournaments in Oz.

Hot stuff, Pat!
Did you drop poundage or make any other "indoor" changes?

Nice work Pat
Imagine how many more points you would have scored with an eBlade and new X7's. ;) :D
What were the 2 half rounds?

Thanks guys.
The split was 295 front 297 back half. We only have two ends of 3 arrows for sight settings. (dropped two points in the last 2 ends of 3 arrows) just pressure when you start to think what the score might be.
I did nothing else to the bow, it is my Proelite that I shot at the Nats, XT3000, Spiral cams about 58.something pound.
Pat :D

Nice one Pat. Have you experimented with low poundages for indoor?

I have really wanted to do this but I havent yet.
I think that Reo Wilde who won the World Indoor in Denmark 05 only shot about 40 pound, but I havent spoken to him so this is only from what I have heard from others there.
I have to get my stuff together for World Field, but I think indoor is the best training for aiming, no outside influences, no wind, no angles for your feet, just pure shooting. Great practice.

Come shoot the world IFAA at the Bay Pat. Great practice for aiming with no wind.
Would be a great warmup for the FITA stuff, and give some very tight competition.

Strathalbyn Target Archers is holding two Ranking Shoots in June / July. That is a first for us, but yes indoor should have more competitions.
Might have to look into that

I think they are pretty simple with the premier. Dont you just wind the spring tension all the wrong way until it disengages and put your rubber/string on one of the drop stop screws?
Coghlan

exactly & I dont know how to get pics on my posts

With the Golden Premier launcher you need to be careful with just winding the spring backwards as it can bind (it expands as it unwraps). Bryce Lee had this affect his shooting at our AV State Target last year. Bryce and I overcame it by swapping springs (I am right handed, he is left handed so when we swapped springs they were both being wound up and hence don't bind).

Thanks for the warning,
This initially was just a test to see how a drop away rest would work, I will probably get a proper Golden Key drop away soon.

Holy crap Pat, bloody good shoot'n. :o
I hope for my sake your spring binds _and_ your rubber breaks at the State Indoor. :-?
Well done dude, see you soon.
Chris.
