View Full Version : Nock rubbing on nocking point, preventing string twisting

I've been noticing on occasions that when drawing my bow that the peep sight isn't always twisting around properly. I finally realised that on some occasions the string on my Cascade release is pushing the bottom of the nock up into the nocking point (made of dental floss), and the nocking point is preventing the string from twisting consistently.

I was thinking of adding a D-loop string to prevent the release from effecting the nock, but I've heard that using a D-loop when you have a string release is a bad idea.

What are other peoples thoughts on this? Does anyone have a better suggestion on how to prevent the interference with the string rotation?

I use a cascade release and just removed the string from the release and added a d-loop

Ive used the cascade 8 and 10 on d-loops before , you may have to change your anchor position as they can pretty much only be shot in a horizontal position or they jump off the hasp.

Put another tie-on nock point below the arrow. Leave a little bit of room so that the nock is not pinched. This will alter your sights slightly.
