hey,

i have been following Elite archery for quite a while, but was wondering if anyone has shot one yet??, i personally like the look of the E-500, and am considering one for the future, but seeing as they are VERY similar to bowtech :P, how does it compare againt the alleigence (yes i know every one like bowtech), but this looks like a new flavor onthe market.

cheers NV

The simarlarities between BowTech and Elite are numerous and obvious.

1. Elite is owned by a former owner of BowTech.
2. BowTechs logo is as follows"Refuse to Follow". Elites logo is "The Rest Have to Follow
3. The cam used by BowTech, Binary, has been used by Elite. This cam works on exactly the same ingenius principle that makes BowTech famous
4. All the bows in the Elite lineup can be traced back to one of the BowTechs.

E-Force Tribute
E-500 Allegiance
Energy Old Glory
Ice Equalizer

Even compare the specs of each bow. The E-Force is beyond parrallel, so is the Tribute. The Ice is a short draw bow, so is the Equalizer.

So look for your self, the similarities in specs, (ATA, BH etc)

At the current time i am leaning towards Elite only because of the convenience of having the only Elite dealer in Aus 20 mins down the road.

If he stocked both, it may well be a different story.

I am planning on trying an E-Force. Will give you review if I can.

Reading that reminds me of a simpson quote:

Bart: The similarities are subtle, but many. For example,
Radioactive Man has his famous catch phrase, "Up and at 'em!"
with "at 'em" spelled A-T-O-M in a delicious pun.
Milhouse: Go on...
Bart: While Radiation Dude has a similar but lamer catch phrase, "Up
and let's go!"

yeah, i haev checked all the specs, and it is obvious that they are pretty much exactly the same,

i am waiting to try out an alleigence, and hopefullly try a E -500, i was considering buying a E500, but haev decided to hoyt to bring out their verison of teh binary cam (if ever), the trykon parrelell limbs are awsome! felt better than the mattheews and older bowtech (debatable), though the Zephyr cam suxs

Is it just me or didnt the old compounds from the 70's and 80's have a binary type cams? they had the bus cables hanging off one side without using a yolk come to think of it I still see a few juniors shooting those little red limbed chinese bows and they have the same setup. were these cams similar in mechanics or just looked it but with wheelies?

A fellow club member has one I tried it out on the weekend, its the fastest model Elite make. The specs are the very similar to a Bowtech but thats where it ends, the finish is terrible.

When I first saw the bow I thought it was a second hand bow such was the roughness of the paint job. Also at the top of the grip it hasnt been machined properly so there is a sharp corner which sticks into your hand, very uncomfortable. Limb pockets and cams were also also poorly finished. The bow was light and fast, I wouldnt pay more than $800 for one IMO.

Whilst I did not examine it to the extent of Rin... nevertheless I don't think I'll be trading in my Allegiance just yet !
