View Full Version : juinor committe
hey i am a member at SOPA (Sydney Olympic Park Archers) and my club has 'meetings' and i know there is a NSW committe and other state committes as well as an Australian Committe. I began thinking that us juinors could make a 'juinor state committe' to discuss such things like competitions, Nationals, archery gear etc.
If we did make a juinor state committe for each state imagine if we could make an Australian Juinor committe. Any ideas please give.

Whilst it sounds cool, it's probably a lot more trouble than it's worth. If you want to have input into decisions made with regards to your club/state/country, get involved in the normal committees, such as those at club level etc. These are often a far more direct and effective way to see things accomplished. Also, attend the AGMs and put your hand up for membership - it's what I did at my club and im the committee for that at the moment. You'd be surprised, many clubs like to have representatives from the younger archer side of things.
With regards to a National Juniors Committee, again, you probably wouldn't find enough GENUINE, ONGOING support from other members of the Junior community, although I'd love the people on this forum to prove me wrong.
I guess we'll see what the feeling is from response to this thread!

could you imagen a bunch of >18 people doing any important comittie work. I think the meetings would go like, We should be given lollies at tornaments, more importantly I know a bar where we can get some beer lets go get drunk.

yea i agree with that, its not much use for juniors to have a commitee after all we are simply not mature enough well. some are but some aren't. Any way you can put suggestions to senior members so it's not that ideal.
I dont think under 18s are allowed to vote at many clubs.
but it may not have 2 be 18 yr olds all da time....they could have various ages so we have opinions from all the ages....like we could have 2 cubs,2 inter,2 cadets and 2 juinors or someting like that. if so they would probably be a male and female

i just don't think you'll get enough serious opinions out of them maybe 2 or 3 may have an adequate opinion or suggestion but the rest well... its something like 'Mmm I like Candy do you like candy too'?

if you have any suggestions, just go to your clubs CoM and ask them to put it forward.

That's probably the best way to go about it - especially if you can't actually get elected to a position within your club (for whatever reason).
alright well thanks for your opinions.-KAJ
