Drinking games are always happening though I'd have thought all uni students would know that. :-? :beer_drink:

I think 2002 (or 03) was the last games archery was an official sport

Incorrect.

2005 was the last year Archery was an official sport. Sydney Uni hosted both 2004 and 2005 events. 2004 was at Sydney Uni, and 2005 was at Homebush.

Due to VSU, Australian Uni Sport (AUS) has decided to cancel all individual championships for minor sports and place emphasis on cluster games, regional games and the AU Championships.

Sadly, this means that Archery which was part of cluster games in 1999 (MacCarthur), that became an individual championships in 2000 (Erina), 2001(Erina), 2002(Newcastle), 2004(Usyd) and 2005(Homebush) is no longer part of the games.

Originally we were planning to run a replacement event, but due to lack of enthusiasm from our members, the idea has been shelved for the moment.

That doesn't surprise me in the slightest...... Since the folks who were supposed to be helping and looking after the event weren't, and didn't, especially as one of them was actually leaving his job while the event was being organised :-?

Yes, world uni games events are still happening, last year it was in Turkey but I don't know where it is now.

Universiade or whatever the current term is, in Slovakia 14-18 June or something... bloody useless timing since I've got exams and couldn't go.
