Interesting to read David Anears' editorial on who should be liable for the cost of State uniforms. Whether or not I agree with his opinion is of little importance here - I'm sure we all have the ability to make up our own minds on the matter. Nevertheless, I strongly support David's position that it is not the place of Archery Victoria's president to issue clubs with a edict on how they should vote/view/feel about a particular issue (a letter issued under the AV letterhead mind you). I feel that David's suggestion that an "abuse of power" is taking place is a valid one.

However, David goes on to suggest that our AV president should be directing his attention to gaining sponsorhip/funding/financial support in order to clothe the best our state has to offer. I mean...really!! Who on earth is going to financially back a sport that can't even run its state organising body in a subjective and diplomatic manner (So much for striking while the iron's hot).

Thanks for the feedback. David did not write the editorial, however he does share the same opinion.
That's the thing, there is plenty of money out there for sports who are willing to give a little back to the sponsors. Archery's problems in my mind is the following:
Holding onto out of date rules such as all white for all shooters, this discourages sponsors.
Lack of leadership at a state and national level with forward thinking view points. All they do is make excuses. In all my time I believe that given the opportunity most people in power looked at their own best interests first.
Any idea on what happened at the meeting that decided on the uniforms? David couldn't make it due to a broken leg.
