I just got home from the world archery titles in hervey bay, great time, but i had a few things happen to me whilst i was there and i just thought i share them with you... :
*1st day: the string poped off my bow 10 min's before i was due to go on the range the first day... got that fixed...my release-aid jammed 4 targets in, ... then that days bad luck was over...
*2nd day came and wen't, smashing my PB by 66...
*3rd day came and stupid me left my sight settings back at the motel...
*4th day wat great nothing wen't wrong but i droped a few easy point's...
*5th and final day, first target, the serving below my peep was no-longer there and my peep sight moved... i fixed that by using temparary dental floss... then the last thing to go wrong was my arrow rest, which decided to lossen and the spring poped it up so it was 90 degrees to my riser...
after all this i pulled through in the end and came 15th overall and 5th in my devision. please let me know if anyone has had so much trouble at one shoot???

umm,
at the junior nats my sight block loosened and moved in teh second end of the enitre comp. the block has some play in it and we didnt re set it to the right angle and didnt realise. couldnt see through peep sight and change like evry bit of my form. by the end of teh FITAs i shot a good 400 - 500 less than my best. which is embarresing.
least bad things dont just happen to me
cheers NV

Good finish, important point here NEVER GIVE UP. I've lost count of the amount of people I have seen walk of swearing and cursing and grizzling about what might have been for the next few years. Well done for shooting on.
Oh, BTW, get an "Accurate Sight" tape made and stick it on your sight bar so Day 3 will never happen again, and have an identical spare release aid ready to go in your quiver

lol thanks for that Eolla, i had a spare release aid but it was back off the range, as for that tape i'll look into that. just so people arn't slightly mis-guided here i was soooo close to just walking off the range that last day, and the only thing that stoped me was one of my best freinds thretening to shoot me if he saw me walking of the range lol. oh and NV about your sight block moving that happened to me about 2 months ago, not fun eh? oh well if anyone has had bad luck at a majour or minor shoot for that matter feel free to post it here, im sure NV would like to know just as well as me that bad things happen.

i know a girl in competition she was shooting recurve and her arrow rest popped out at the beginning of the competition giving her no chance to get a good tune she finished last everywhere...

i had a screw on my bottom limb go missing in the middle of this years nationals, but it doesnt make too much of a diff..
i was shooting a field one time and someones stabilizers shot out as they released, quite spectacular, but ive never had anything happen to me....yet..

i was in a club comp and my prong cover moved everytime i shot, it moved my arrows left, and i increased my poundage so my arrows got bent. I also have a arrow rest which aims arrows so badly right that i sometimes missed the target. Lucky i shot on the far right lol
