Question...

What kind of taret butts are used in the big outdoor tournements. Think European Championships, World championships, or Olympic games.

Are they made of Karhos, Ethafoam or other materials.

The Sydney OG's used the American Whitetail butts but I am not aware of the type of material in that butt, except that is a type of rolled neoprene or something.

Our club purchased some of these butts from the "Remains of the Games" sale and have found that they are shockers to pull arrows from. Apparently, at the time of the OG's, there were 2 different versions of the Whitetail butt, and we got the wrong one, one that has an extra layer of black material layer perpendicularly over the centre. They are shockers to pull from.

Maybe Dave Rowson (g'day mate) can add to this in more technical terms for you.
