Just playing around with setting up some indoor arrows. Just got some pro points from Marcus and the things all weighed exactly what they were meant to. All 6 of them were spot on to the 10th of a grain. I have never seen that before, even with tungstens.

But the X7's are a different story........
362.2
365.4
363.8
362.4
364.6
362.6

MIN 362.2
MAX 365.4
AVG 363.5

The shaft that is 365.4 is a slightly different color......... not being racist but its a bit of an outcast and a a fair bit heavier.

What would be the best way to remove 2.5+ grains from an arrow without shortening it? Tried filing the inside of the nock and point ends but can't seem to remove enough. Plus i dont want to make the walls to thin there.

Thinking of filing some weight off the points instead........

the only thing i can think of is filing down the back of the point.

Would the weight difference matter given that they are for indoor shooting?

I would take it off the back of the point.

By my calculation: for indoor archery at 18M, I think that so long as you get the arrows within about 2 grains it will be just fine.
(But for longer distances you would definitely need it more accurate than that).

if your obsesive compulsive, ( like some of our admin) then you would definately think about it.

Or drip some glue into the lighter ones and make them up to match the heavier one? That 2 odd grains extra won't make any difference at 18 metres considering that you're shooting over 50lbs, Dave (that's what I read on Titan's website :) ).

I was forgetting I only had to fling them 18m.

Don't beleive everything you read on the internet ;)

I heard he's been training right-handed with a 74# practice setup. :D

A 3.2 grain difference for shooting over 18m...I wouldn't worry about it.
Spine on the other hand...different story.

Match lighest arrow with heaviest point or vice versa (seeing as you said they are all within 0.1 of a grain), then get out the file and have at it my son.

I've given up on aluminiums. Find the hassle of having to adjust the rest too much. Only have one bow too after selling off the other one.

It doesn't matter what you're shootin' Dave, you're goin' DOWN.....

I'd call up Easton and get them to send you two dozen that are weight and spine matched :)

Surely you have enough pull to make sure they get you the good stuff :)

From there make sure you tune them all through the hooter shooter to find the 1/2 dozen the hit the same hole exactly every shot at 30m.

From there, Michaele's WR indoor FITA is in play, hehehehehe!

Cheers,
Pete

Surprisingly enough, the better score was shot with A/C/Es. The 598 double 25 metre round.

The MACHINE aka Dave with telegraph poles might just give that a shake and I don’t like your chances Sandy so I'll put this 500 0n Dave.

 There is only one thing I have enough pull with........... and it's not a multi million dollar arrow company ;)

I would leave the heavier one as a last resort spare.
