funny thing is, american football evolved from rugby, just like league, and rugby evolved from football
1869
Rutgers and Princeton played a college soccer football game, the first ever, November 6. The game used modified London Football Association rules. During the next seven years, rugby gained favor with the major eastern schools over soccer, and modern football began to develop from rugby.
1876
At the Massasoit convention, the first rules for American football were written. Walter Camp, who would become known as the father of American football, first became involved with the game.

It seems to me to be nothing more than a way for liberal propagandists to fill television screens around the world with unholy man-love

I love it!
She even asked if I was going to be watching and who I was going to “support” once the “USA gets knocked out.”
I didn’t like her attitude and I told her so, inwardly shuddering at the thought of the USA getting knocked out of anything.
I think Shelley the Republican and New Tricks would get along nicely.
:bday:
She sounds like one of Rush Limbaugh's followers:rofl:

I heard a comment on radio that the Americans were shocked when they discovered other countries were participating in a "world" event! :-D It was an intended comical remark, and it hits the spot when looking at these comments.

'intelligence' and 'American' simply cannot be put into the same sentence:p

I work for a US based company, unfortunately this is not an unusual belief.
I am forever getting meeting requests for 1 AM. Only to get a shocked reply that they didnt realise Australia was in a different timezone...
This has happened more than once!!
