How many turns can mathews LX limbs be wound down.
The book says 5 full turns but also I have read no more than 10lb.
Each turn is apparently 2-3 pound.
Any advice would be appreciated.

5 turns MAX for safe shooting. If you only need to turn it down 4 turns to drop 10 pounds, then that's fine - just don't shoot it with more than 5 turns from max. Enjoy! :D

Why do you what to wind it down ????
If you want a lower poundage than the bow is,, there are other ways of doing it without changing the limbs or allowing the limbs to hang right out .

I haven't been able to shoot a lot lately due to being crook, bloody winter bugs had 2 in a row now.
I plan to shoot the indoors but will not be able to handle the full poundage for the shoot as I have lost a lot of fitness.
What other ways are there to reduce the poundage, I didn't want to get different limbs as will work up to the full poundage eventually and I didn't want to change the string as it has just been set up.
Not sure what else there is too do.
Just wound it out 3 1/2 turns and they don't hang out that much, going to take it to the club on saturday and check the poundage.

Can you handle it after 5 turns? if it says 5 turns there can't be too much wrong with it...

3.5 is no worry as long as limb pocket is secure on bow, I shoot 51 pound off a 60 pound bow no worries.4 turns out.
