hello everyone,

I have a Hoyt compound that i bought last year and lately every time i go out to shoot the string turns a little more along with my peep. I would like to find a way to fix this problem.

thanks

hey there rambo, i have the same problem. From what i have gathered so far, all it is, is with the different tempreature your string expands a contracts ever so slightly, and on ocasion, causes the string(and the peep) to not come around properly. i have had 2 solutions put to me before so here they are:

1) you can get a peep witha a rubber atachment which will allways bring the peep around. Advantage is, it will always come around perfectly. Disadvantage is, the rubber will dry out your string and can cause it to fray.

2) you can try various types of peeps and see what one works for you. ie, 2-way, 4-way(hard to come by now, and the type i use), i dont know if there is a 5-way but i do know there is a 6-way peep sight. When your at full draw you can turn it with your nose or, get a mate to watch your peep and see what direction it turns when you draw, this way you can turn your peep a little bit in the opposite direction a few times before you draw. this generally works.

When you put on a new peep you must make sure that you divide the stands of your string evenly throughout your peep or elese it makes it harder to see through and can cause damage to your string.

If you whant more info or you want to ask me something, feel free to PM me. hope this helped.

I think your string is D75, it does creep a bit over time, causeing your peep to rotate, put a twist or half a twist in your string, useing a loop will also help with lining up the peep.

I wouldn't reccomend that, it can slow your bow down 10fps, and can be quite nasty if it breaks.

sure it slows down your bow but, sometimes its the only solution. like in my case, i had 1 night before i went to the world titles and my peep started to just not come around. i had to put on the rubber peep, and the bow was not effected to any noticable leval... and did not affect my long range shooting abilites either, as for snapping, my freind has been shooting with one for 4 years, and only broke on him the other day. however i do agree with you, if this option is avoidable than so be it... however in some cases it is not, and should be a last resort

after a year i would be a good idea to change ur strings as u may have a broken strand under your servings it may also help taking off ur center serving and putting more twists in the string the serving it agin

Buy a "winners Choice" string and you wont regret it.
Peep rotation used to annoy the hell out of me until I made the invesment of a professionally made string. I still make my own cables but the extra dollars for a pro string is well spent.
