However, I really like Windows because of the amount of money I make fixing it when it inevitably breaks.

Don't remind me... I thought I'd drop it on my machine temporarily to play a game or two that won't work otherwise. It seems to be completely incapable of understanding modern hardware - makes me wonder how anyone actually gets the damn thing installed on their computers...

XP is good, only recent problem I have had is installing a new machine with a 200gb hard drive and it not seeing the full capacity of the drive, and this was compounded by my inability to slipstream sp2 into the dubious copy of XP Pro I have

One of my friends had that a few days ago. Seems XP before SP1 can't deal with any more than 137GB - of course, it's not very good at telling you that...

really can't fault windows, running for 3 years, no reformat, no anti virus, minimal anti-spyware, basic NAT firewall, and it's only beginning to slow down - and that's got a lot more to do with the fact that it's a crap computer, and I've filled 39gb of a 40gb harddrive.

Yes. It is.
The new one has been "next year" for about three years now - it does seem to be getting a bit closer, but it doesn't do anything everyone else hasn't had for ages.
