I am looking to buy one to help practice my form when I can not shoot.

Bernies Las-air (sic) is pretty good. It attaches to your own bow, which I think would be an advantage over a simulator. Takes a little bit of mucking around to attach. About 2 or 3 minutes, but after that its virtually like shooting an arrow, although there is more weight on the follow through. The laser is also a nice feature. I can't see why it wouldn't work on a recurve either NT.

While your at it maybe you can buy a recurve score....... say in the 1350 range? :D
