For all those that might be interested here is the link to an on-line arrow speed calculator that is apparently quite accurate.

cool and somewhat accurate :)

That calculation is relying on an estimate of the bow's Virtual Mass (or its efficiency). It is pretty easy to do, but also only approximate in its accuracy.

it got my indoor rig to within 2 feet per second, but was off by 10fps when it came to my outdoor rig.

Its pretty good though. Gives you an idea what changes you can muck around with.(and what extra gear you can buy!!)

271 for my bow and the thing said 280. Not bad. Not great though if you were to use it as a 1 sight distance/speed combo for Archer's Advantage or the like.

Agreed.
If you want to do the one distance & velocity trick you really do need to have a very accurate velocity (I think to within 1 ft/sec) or your sight settings will be poor.
I have looked at this quite carefully with "Accurate Sights" (I used to have it as an option), but decided that it was really not a good way to do it. (If I was to create "Inaccurate Sights" I would have it as one of the standard options). Two accurate sight settings is a much better way to go.
