Roll up, roll up!

It's game time again and the stakes are a little higher this time.

The Game: In this thread you can post whatever you like, random jargon, your thoughts, what you got up to today...whatever. (Forum rules must still be abided by) . I will NOT accept blank posts or posts containing just smilies (emoticons).
I have nominated a post number to Marcus and the person who makes that post will win:

The Prize: An Archery-Forum mouse pad worth about $20

I will not be supplying hints as to what post number it will be and forum conduct rules must still be followed.

No Spamming. You can't post multiple times at once.

once a user makes a post, they cannot make another until someone else has posted.

Archers without Medals Fund
I have this idea of setting up a fund where shooters can send in their unwanted medals where they can be redistributed to those shallow enough to need them.
Useful?

dbjac
19-07-2006, 11:55 AM
it would be quite useful. At MAC we have a freakin huge box of medals, trophies, shields, cups... the whole lot, which Jackson Fear won years ago, and gave us when he was here. So if anyone wants to be the junior national champ in like... 1990, just PM me, and i'll hook you up with a trophy.

CMB50

I'd really like to be the 1989 Victorian Mens 50+ recurve clout runner up.

Anyone with that medal/trophy contact me - we need to talk :)

(and for anyone wondering - obviously Marcus and I cannot win the prize)

I think kids are the ones who need to rewarded for their efforts more than anything....They are our future and the future of archery is in their hands....;) I don't think that they are being 'Shallow' for wanting a little bit of recognition.....1 in particular that comes to mind is a young girl who shot both her rounds on the Sunday a crook as a dog...She put in a great effort:p

Marcus
19-07-2006, 03:28 PM
Actually don't start with the 'must support the kids' junk. I work with ALOT of juniors and they all hate getting medals for nothing. I have also competed as a junior and hated getting a medal for nothing or winning a class award.
It's the adults who sulk more than juniors.

Megan was worried about her daughter Jasmine, who was eight, and had taken on a defeatist attitude about practically everything. Megan first noticed this after picking Jasmine up from school and asking how her day had been, only to hear her speak about how she was going to be nine soon, so much wasted time, so many things still undone, the best years of her life behind her. Megan considered this a mood, or perhaps something Jasmine had heard on television, and didn't think too much of it, and while Jasmine was not unhappy, and in most ways acted as she always had, she would occasionally sigh and consider all that was now lost to her. I thought this was hilarous, and Megan told me that my laughing at something like this is just another perfect example of why I hadn't yet met her. The first time I did meet her, that first weekend at the new house, Megan introduced us and I asked Jasmine how she was doing, and she told me things were as well as could be expected, and I said yeah, there's only so much we can do with all these worries and failed hopes filling what little light remains before the inevitable call of the grave. Megan shook her head, and Jasmine stared at me for a second, sizing me up, and said worries? I got worries.

Dealing with children is a lot easier than I thought when I was younger.

Invalid offer with rules being clouded by unclear and confusing definitions.

The competition is a best a farce, and designed to make gullible aspirant winners spend big money by using internet connections in the desire to gain valuable rewards, in a competition which is purely designed by web site administrators to bolster the levels of posts on a failing site, after the banning of NT.

Cam,

Your unbridled attempt to increase the post rate on this forum is beyond contempt after the the flagging interest following the (overdue) banning of a frequent contributor, Mr N Tricks.

Whether or not this is a democratic forum has no relevance, Cam, the law of contract is universally based on "offer and acceptance", and unless the conditions are pre-advised, in clear and unambiguous terms, the contest/contract would be invalid.

I have to stand in for Cam here ;)

Contract law is based on offer and acceptance - yes, but the fact that someone has posted on the thread on offer, means that there is an implied acceptance...further, if the further conditions are agreed upon then the contract is still valid...by posting further, you are accepting the further conditions...blah, blah...

But I would let you win on the sympathy vote ;)

Ok let me ruin LOST for the fans :D

Last Ep:

Jack and his crew travel with Michael to the other side of the isalnd to attack the "others".

John and Des lock themselves in the hatch and let the countdown run out. The machine is a big electromagnet the needs to be discharged every 108 mintues or it might blow up.

Echo gets Charlie to help try to get into the hatch because echo thinks pressing the button is important. So he's using dynamite in the hall to blow up the door...........Didn't work & might haved killed himself...charlie just hurt.

Countdown runs out and big magnet is sucking all metals objects to teh walls....Des goes into floor panel and uses his secret shutoff key to shutdown the Magnet. Big huge White Flash across the island. All outside appear to be alive.

Jack and crew get captured by the others. Michael is given back Walt and they jump on the little fishing boat and travel on course 325 to get rescued.

The guy whom jack and crew captured in hatch........ he's the head honcho of the "others".... the Great Man.

.....Lame

But I will DL Season 3!! :D... to make sure it's still lame

PS: Dave looks at log sheets and sees that the same day 5 months ago, that he tried to let the countdown run out and the big Magnet starting drawing things into it........... was the same day and time that Jack's crew's plane fell out of the sky........ <insert twightlightzone music here>
