View Full Version : Further i get the worsers my release is
I can do perfect release at 15 meters but when i get to 30 and up i cant it also depends on the target size the smaller the worse my release is, i think if i get a blank but at my further disctances i'll be alright.
Does any one have any other ideas?

Alot of us have this problem. It's an over aiming thing.
You need to go out to say 55m and shoot on an 80cm or 60cm face and focus 100% on working the release aid correctly. It can only be fixed through hard work.

Could also be due to a favoured shoulder / arm alignment. I'm a recurver and I prefer the steeper angles of the longer distances. Every now and then, when I'm watching my form, my grouping at 90 metres is twice better than that at 70 metres. Could also be due to the fact that I hang the shooting bag pretty high when shooting at home (which I do almost daily) so I'm quite used to having the bow at a steeper angle. Further proven by the fact that I'm pretty crap and dread the lowest target on a three spot face.
i dont like steeper angles 60 meters really gets me, i dont shoot it that much.

Perhaps that explains everything then. ;)
Anyway, I should think that it's normal to have your scores go down as the distance gets higher. Unless of course you're talking about a difference of more than say 30 per 20 metres.

Keep working away with your shot sequence Tegs, your scores will come along in time.
