I walked out to go to work yesterday to a vacant piece of road where my car used to be. GONE!! STOLEN
In the boot was all my archery gear.
Has anyone in Melbourne seen
a Burgundy Subaru RS Turbo PTY351
an almost new camo Bowtec Old Glory
CXLs, triples, 2315
other assorted gear

Sorry to hear your plight. It would be nearly worse than losing two old friends. Hope there is a happy ending for you

You can get two new friends for free, Betty-Anne, but you'd have to pay for a new setup and car.
Wonder whether the thief wanted the bow and decided to take the car as well or stole the car and got a free bow. These people need the wrath of god on them.
Over here, we have yet to hear of folks stealing bows from cars. Bows usually get stolen at outdoor archery tournaments. You'll see a few stragglers hanging around ... hanging around ..... hanging around ....... running away!

I'd expect it was the car, it'd be worth a lot more than the bow - and easier to sell probably.
Agreed about the wrath - failing that, a few months in some pound-me-in-the-ass jail with Bubba as a cellmate wouldn't go amiss!

Oh sorry, didn't notice the model of the car at first. That's a lovely car. Are you at least fully insured for the car, Alan?

Condolences.:(
I think it must be very hard to take for a guy who is more upset about someone kncking of his shooting iron more than his horse(you must love the sport!!!).
All I can suggest outside of the obvious sherriff stuff, is that all bows have rego numbers where the limb joins the riser and even if you dont have it written down some where, most clubs when you register ask you to fill in a form with these details for insurance purposes.
If you have AA(not the booze one) rego they would also have this info on database if you have shot in there events. If you can now obtain these details let the fuzz know so they can inform the pawn joints.
Keep an eye on ebay to as most thieves are dumb and as I guess alot of the fellas and girls on the forum search the net a bit for a good deal so can you post all these details(brand, clr, cams, pnds, case, drawlegth, darts, eyes, fingers the lot- incase they try to sell seperately) so we can form an internet posse ( although I dont speek for everyone Im sure the people on the forum would love to help) and keep you posted. Heck, you might even get your horse back too!
Hope it works out and I will keep a sharp eye out

I know someone who had a car stolen, found in another state 200 miles away. Police asked him to go identify and confirm ownership. He went there, took one look, saw that the car had most probably been trashed and denied that was his car. Chasis and engine numbers had been machined off but he knew it was his car. Just didn't want it back in that state. Managed to get a full claim so no loss in the end.
Actually, he benefited a little because he'd lost a high paying job and couldn't keep up with the installments anyway. :D

Sorry if I was off base here.:(
I was just quoting my experience when I rejoined my club and I put In my AA and ASnsw rego info at the same time.
I know that my club prez got us to fill in a desriptive sheet with our bow, arrows and accessory details which he entered into the club puta and gave us back a printout to amend any incorrect info, so Im guessing that from your experience that this is a club specific thing and not being club secretary(who does a top job with all tha admin side) I sort of assumed that this info may have gone off with rego as I submited it all together.
Apologies for my error but was only trying to help out cause Im not sure if everyone keeps a record of this stuff outside of their club( but I spose that it might be a good idea).
I just hope that ALAN gets his stuff back and the people responsible get whats coming. As yet I havent found anything that seems to sus on the net but will keep an eye out.
Thanks for the insight

Obviously the Police were told. Fortunately I have access to a database of all goods which go through second hand dealers. I will do regular searches for your bow.
Damn shame, and I'm very sorry you lost your gear. I have a spare compound and a set of ACEs you can borrow until you sort your insurance etc. Call me on 0409 091 252

Car insurance does not cover contents. If your car was parked at your house then it shoould be covered in your home contents though.

I feel for you. Same thing happened to my husband a few years ago.
About a week before the Nationals his car and all his archery gear were stolen from the driveway where he works.
Nothing was ever recovered.... no car, no archery gear!!!
Our insurance paid out but then they informed us that they would no longer cover any of our archery gear!!!
Good luck in your search.

An archer at AAC had a car run into the back of his car just as he was about to get out of it at the club, his archery gear in the boot was destroyed. His car was covered by the idiots insurance, but not his equipment - would have to sue - not likely as the guy who crashed into his car was a loser.
I have an Accidental Home Contents Insurance Policy through CGU and all my gear is covered if destroyed or stolen from my car etc. I would recommend anyone who carries expensive sporting equipment away from the home to get this type of home contents policy.

wow. did that catch the thiefs? hope they do. might find some finger prints etc.
hope the bow turns up. in my experience cops will look for stolen items for only a short while after the robbery. but a thief would prob go for ebay or the local papers to sell it.
May justice be done and you receive your bow, my friend.
