ok i'm shooting for either the new trykon, or a switchback, but keeping my standards (and cash) down a bit, i have looked at 3 different bows.

1. the hoyt lazertec
2. the hoyt vtec
3. the matthews outback.

what are the ups and downs of these 3? i'm not looking for the fastest thing in the world, but i want comfort and damn good accuracy most of all. any yeahs or nays?
how is the outback especially, i hear many mixed feelings about it.

currently shooting a bowtech tomkat(lefty) at 28" and 65 lbs.

just not happy with it, doesn't feel comfortable to me anymore. would like to get something new thats perfect for me. i believe if you shoot bows you should have a bow thats perfect for you in every way, not every way but that one tiny little thing, that just kinda ruins it. i bought it because i got one hell of a deal, but after the season i just kinda started to notice i wasn't liking it as much as when i first got it (kinda like a bad relationship.)

So of course your scores will improve if you buy a new bow

I think you've hit a slump in your scores right now. A new bow ain't exactly the way out of it. Why don't you spend the money on higher end accessories and get the bow setup and retuned again? Might do you more good that way.

There're only two guys I know shooting the Matthews Outback and both are feared shooters. :D That said, one of them shoots the Ultratec as well and neither bow has given him an edge in scores.

Moutaindewguy,

Having regard to this excerpt from your post, how the hell is anyone on here going to be able to assist you?

The only way you will get something "perfect for you" is to pick up a bow and shoot it! So do you think that forum contributors can answer that question? I think not.

Some contributors may be able to give you their impressions of bows, but not your final answer.

i'm not looking for a final answer, i am looking for the impressions. i just simply don't want the tomkat anymore. its been a good bow, its tuned, got great accessories on it, but i just simply want something diffferent. of the 'under $600' range i have narrowed it down to the diamond victory, outback, lazertec, and the vtec (i noticed the huge difference in the vtec and lazertec is a small amount of speed) i'm not looking for someone to find the bow for me, i'm looking for someone who has shot these or at least one of them and see what they thought, thats all.

Frommy has already answered you BEFORE your reply. :D That's what all of us have been trying to tell you in the first place. Unless of course you're asking for impressions of the bows you mentioned but that wasn't the way you phrased it. Even assuming that all of us were clones of each other, we still might not shoot the same way and thus, will not end up having the same impressions because the very same bow will work differently with each of us.

i understand all of this, i'm not new to archery, i know all this stuff. i probably didn't phrase it right like you said. ok then, here it is. i'm looking for peoples IMPRESSIONS on the following bows:
outback
diamond victory
vtec
lazertec

thanks!

I would go for the Outback, not just because I own one but because most people that have the Outback and Switchback don't seem to notice a great deal of difference between the two.

That is depending on whether the Switchback was your ultimate choice if you had the cash.

Of all the bows I have had, the Outback is definately the best all-rounder.

Geez guys, nothing wrong with simply wanting to upgrade. Bows are like computers, upgrade as often as you like, or as often as you need to SEE THE WHOLE WEBPAGE! :p ;)

Of those the Vtec and Outback are the best, the Lazertec the most cost effective though and the Victory likely the lightest.
Tough call, I would take the Victory or the Vtec.

i know the victorys are just so damn accurate though, and fairly quick. and suprisingly lightweight for the dimensions of the bow itself. i think i am going to go with the victory, but if i get some more cash the switchback. thanks for your help!
