View Full Version : james park's books
Just bought 3 of them ...bought them on the net so hadn't realised they were in black and white...makes illustrations interesting when you are trying to follow 'the red intersecting line' and graphs etc
Is this something you guys have reserved for Pomland ?
Is there such a thing as a colour edition?
Or is B&W what is meant when people refer to the 'Dark Side'?

No colour edition as yet as they could cost about $95 each to print. We do print on demand otherwise the costs are too high.
I will however be investigating it again in case the costs have come down.

shame...was hoping BW was payback for for the Brits [Ashes] and you'd have Aussie colour versions...great books. insightful and useful esp the analysing form one.
they deserve more exposure imho
have you considered printing in China? might be a way around cost issue and quality is way up there

Yep but then we would not be able to do small print runs and also won't be supporting local industry.

Marcus,
Any chance of a downloadable color edition?

No, too hard to manage and far too big.

shame...got all the books...TA, Heretic, McKinney 'Precision etc...and in many ways, James' book on analysing form is the most useful and approachable...so its a bugger not to be able to se the lines clearly
Given that the audience is mainly going to be serious archers/coaches, I think many would happily accept a ring bound set of printed A4 pages in colour in place of a properly produced book in B&W...is this an option?
The books sell for

Jim is a member of Sherbrooke Archers and he kindly donated A4 spiral bound proof editions to our club . They now take pride of place in our new club library. I occasionally refer to these and agree they are nice looking in in a larger size and full colour.
No doubt Jim intended to publish them in colour and could if it was cost effective.
I am a proud owner of retail versions of the three books and know what you mean about them being a little hard to follow as a result of being in B&W.
Perhaps we should lobby Jim and Marcus for a large format version in colour like the other books you mentioned.
I'd buy again..... if my wife lets me.:(
