is there string included? what sorta string.

Yes there is a string but you may want to splurge and buy a new one so you can set it up for yourself.

I have a spare plunger button I can put on it (don't ask me the make) but it is not new.

I'm not exactly sure what year model the bow is but probably around 1986. It sat in it's case doing nothing for 10 years so it isn't exactly worn out. I didn't use the 32 lb limbs much so they are in very good condition.

Unappealing as it may look compared to today's designs, the Gold Medallist is a proven piece of equipment. Highly suitable for you, Mr Bengal.

ps. Knock him down a bit on the price. :D

Would a bloke really call themselves "Death Damsel"? I think you mean "knock her down a bit on the price" and yes it is ONO so happy to negotiate. Just PM me.

Well, New Tricks used to use photos of ladies as his avatar so there. :D

Hey, Mr Bengal, go for it. She's open to suggestions, errr, I mean negotiations. Way better than you getting the Rolan.

Well, Actually, lets not get confused here, there is the TD4 and then the TD4+. The Plus is thicker through the throat of the grip, and thus does not break and crack the way the TD4 did.
I think that the gold medalist is just the TD4+ renamed.

correct.

I think you'll find the offical name was always "Gold Medalist".

IMO it went

GM - TD4
GM - TD4+
then just GM

IIRC there was a badge on the other side of the riser that said "Custom" or something similar, was it this badge that allowed you to tell the TD-4 from the TD-4+ ?? Also was it the foam limbs that had "Gold Medallist Carbon Plus", as opposed to the carbon maple limbs that just said "Carbon Plus"??

Regardless of the slightly confusing Hoyt nomenclature, Death Damsel's bow would be ideal for anyone looking for a tournament recurve, it appears to be a very good price too, hopefully someone snaps it up

Splurging's blowing money.

Any limbs that are International Limb Fitting rated will fit so don't worry about that. Tonnes of limbs for you to choose from, UNLIKE the Rolan. :D

Shannonhearse was correct with his description.

DD's bow is the original Gold Medalist TD4.

Still a great bow, and at a great price. At the poundage it will be shot I wouldn't worry about the riser breaking.

hmm i plan to updgrade to heavier limbs as soon as i phsycaily (and financially) can. maybe this isn't the right bow for me coz it might break. i dunno.

Break? No way! It willhandle much more weight than anyone here is capable of drawing.
The GM is a world class bow, used in Olympic competition till the early 90s.

The grip area of the TD4+ was reinforced with more metal to handle the higher stress that introduced by Carbon limb and FastFlight string

hmm. so this bow won't break? so why bother improving the bow to td4+ then falt GM? not trying to be devil's advocate. just trying to figure this out.

MS DD. what is the length of the handle and overall please.

The riser is 25 inches, total length is 66 inches.

The Hoyt GM is 1980s technology, but still a great little bow.
