If it came with a data cable, then it will also probably have some sort of software that you can install on the PC to communicate with it.

your other option is to go bluetooth (most phones will have this). get yourself a bluetooth dongle (about $50) if you pc/laptop doesn't already have one. Should only take a few minutes to set up and start transferring files back/forth.

Machine gun jones pretty much summed it up.

You're either looking at, usb cable, bluetooth, or infrared. I'm not sure what your phone has. Alternatively you can "email" pictures from your phone via mms. But that costs money, and isn't a good option.

Then, as suggested, buy a Bluetooth module

ALL IS WELL! Your phone is a music phone yeah? So I'd assume it came with some sort of usb cable? If not, you can still mms the photos to your email address.

Or, your phone has a memory card, I think, so you could remove the memory card and put it in a memory card reader. A memory card reader is going to be cheaper and more useful than a bluetooth dongle.

Andrew, chillax.

Coach;

You should have got a USB cable which will connect your phone to the PC.

http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=au&lc=en&ver=4000&template=ps1_1_4_1&zone=ps&lm=ps1_1&pid=10437#26

How do I install the USB cable?
To install the USB cable:
1. Insert the CD that came with your phone into your computer's CD-ROM drive.
2. Turn on your phone, and connect the USB cable to a USB port on your computer and to the phone. The "Found new hardware" wizard will start.
3. Select Install the software automatically and click on Next.
4. The wizard should find the USB software driver automatically. Click on Finish
.5. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until all five drivers have been installed.

Dbjac got it. The cable's easier although you might have to install some drivers sometimes.

Coach, I've got a sony 608i, you'll need to install the software that came with the phone and then when you connect the phone it should be recognised

sounds like a challenge, mmmm I think a 486 with cdrom and sound blaster card running dos 6. now you need to get more than 610kB free memory to get that new game you bought going, and to be nice I'll give you a hint the autoexec.bat and config.sys files need a look

Yeah, I'm getting all nostalgic just reading that :-P

Coach: I bought a $50 USB Bluetooth dongle to talk to my phone, cos it didn't come with a cable. Seems to work pretty well.

Hi Coach, I have an S700i so I am pretty sure yours will be very similar in operation to mine. It should have memory card under a rubber or similar cover on the right hand side of the phone, if so open the cover push the card(mini Sony memory stick) in and it should pop out then plug this in the adapter that came with the phone and plug this into a card reader then into your computer. If running Windows the wizard should come up to make downloading easy.
I only hope you bought the phone new and the card has been inserted for you or by you otherwize the photos are going to be save in the phones memory.
Unless you have gone and bought a BLUE TOOTH dongle adapter there is no need to install the software that came with the phone.
Go back to your supplier and say HELP!
Good Luck

All you have to do is to locate the folder where videos usually go. Most phones will have a certain folder for videos rather than allow you to dump them anywhere you want. Usual formats for videos on handphones are 3GP, AAC, M4A or MP4. Some even take AVIs but the quality is wasted on a little screen anyway.
