I have just about got my bow shooting as I want it having improved my Fita 900 score by 32 at the weekend. At 90m however I have sight clearance problems. Should I make my anchor/peep position OK for 90 m and make everything else fit or just move my peep up slightly (or is it down ??) until clearnce is OK?

Tony

p.s I am shooting a Merlin Max2000 at 50lb so arrow speed should not be a problem

Me thinks speed is a problem! if you move your peep to an unnatural angle it will affect all of your shots....
Either add a couple pounds to the bow or lighten up the arrows if they still spine well.

Your only other choice is to bring the sight bar in so the scope/pin is as close to the riser as you can get. This option is most economical.....

I'm with strodette on this one, bring your sight bar closer to your bow and your arrows will go higher on the target. Many archers do this for 90m.

Tony,

I am also shooting a Max 2000, but I am at 44 pound using ACC's. I have no clearance problems whatsoever at 90 metres with a Titan scope.

It may well be that you are using an inappropriate peep setting, depending on your anchor point. Anchor points differ, obviously, and the shape of the archers face can influence this. Maybe it might be advisable to let a coach or experienced compounder look at your anchor point.

Apart from that I agree with the comments above. To maybe clarify this, Marcus indicated that bringing the sight bar in will make the arrows strike the target higher, therefore you need to raise the scope to get centre, and hopefully the problem will go away.

I recomend bringing the sight bar in . I shot my first Fita in years a few weekends ago and as I have my ultra tec setup for IFAA field predomantly I use a higher more comfortable anchor than most , I also shoot 59 # at 29 " and 360 gn Cartel arrows I couldn't get Ninety , so pulled my site in 2 holes and Had no problems. I f I planned on shooting more 90 , I would move my anchor but as I am more of a field archer and only shoot out to 80 yds (73 M) normally I will makd the sacrifice and move my sight .
