I've never heard of Rick's glue but if you go to Loctite's website and tell them exactly what it is you're trying to stick, they will have a product for you. This stuff we used in the past may not be the best for points as it ended up being permanent and it's gap-filling properties exceeded the snug fit of arrows. It was also shock resistant and was good for cycling through temperatures that would fry eggs.

I just had a quick look and they make a ****load of 'glues' that might work. There is also a few that work well with aluminium. Send an email and they should get right back to you. When we needed the product at a past job we just rang them with the details and they set us right.

Failing that, I just did an emegency (5 mins before I left home) stick with liquid nails as I didn't have time to find the old hot glue. The tips stayed in! Don't know how long they'll last though.

Thanks Vic

Ricks Glue is made by Carbon Tech and is supposed to be pretty good.
Only place I have found it is OS though.

I dont think that Rick mixes his own glue - I used Ricks glue, and the got a tube of Bostic Titan Bond from Bunnings - for a lot less - it looks the same, smells the same and hold the same.

I think it works well on my McKs.

Tony,

that glue you got from Bunnings, if you heat the point can you get the point out with wrecking your shaft?

That was the good thing with Rick's Glue....a cigerette lighter could remove the point

Mate - good to see you the other day in ACT.

Hot cup of tea will melt the glue!

A candle will do it but as i shake realy bad I think the hot tea is better - I have not had any problem with the hot tea on the McKs. And after you get the points out, the tea is brewed and just right for drinking!

cheers
