View Full Version : Twisted pockets
My Razortecs limb pockets are twisted. All limbs are leaning towards cable guard. I unstringed the bow and measured the hole in the limb pocket and it is 1.5mm bigger diameter than weight adjustment bolt. That causes the leaning problem.
I had same issue in my 2002 Ultratec also, so is there a reason for the gap or should I fill them?
Axle to axle lenghts are not equal and there is also some cam lean.

I have noticed these same problems over the years. Martin Archery solved these cable guard torque related issues completely with the Fury X cams. Unfortunately, cable guards on today's shorter bows exert a great deal of side-loading force. Lateral string movement results, sometimes making tuning a real troublesome task. http://www.martinarchery.com/bows/sce.htm

I'm not sure if it will make a difference, and it shouldn't given that the bow will do the same thing each time. Back in the early 90's we were shooting bows with no hangers and producing good results (saw a few 1380's shot with massive cam lean).
I'll have a look at a RazorTec and see what I see, I didn't notice any excessive cam lean when I shot one last year.
I have had some problems tuning it and the main reason for arrow flight problems seems to be the grip. I had Shrwed grip on my other bow and it really tuned well ( it didn't have any camlean by the way, but in great wisdom I sold it ). With Hoyt there isn't enough room for my forefinger knuckle and string hits to my arm.
ps. I have already ordered Scepter with fury X cams.
You could strip the bow down and try this :
-Remove Limb pockets
-Remove limb pocket locaters
-Loctite locaters
-Loctite limb pocket bolts after measuring square on the pockets
-Threadlock all studs
End result- a very square bow that "should" never give any trouble through parts working loose. Anything that needs to come apart will (threadlock) and anything that needs to stay put will (loctite)
