Bryce Lee and I travelled to Adelaide for the State Target Chanpionships. As usual, South Australia ran the event very well, and we enjoyed ourselves a lot. The venue was excellent, and the tournament ran very smoothly. It was, however, quite windy. We were very impressed with ASA's new target stands. It would be nice to see a larger number travelling to the various major events such as this in the various different States, and it does provide increased competition.

I don't know many of the scores, however:
Mens Compound:
1st Jim Park 1316
2nd Bryce Lee 1311
3rd John Hartley 1307
Mens Recurve:
1st David Barnes 1267 or 1276 (about there somewhere)
It was reasonably calm for the 1st practice end and then got progressively windier throughout the day.
John had the highest 90M with 312.
I was the highest at 90M with 335.
Bryce shot a very nice 337 at 50M.
David beat all the compounders at 30M with 348.
Our most important task for the day was to keep ahead of the scores being shot in the Queensland FITA Star (despite the strong winds we had), and we did of course achieve that!! We were fortunate in having frequent reports direct from the ground in Queensland, so we knew what we had to get each end to stay in front of 2Dogs.

James
Thanks for your helpful advice on Sunday. It was great to watch you ,Bryce and John shoot. When I got home on Sunday I taught myself how to do tie-on nocks and nocking loops and then cut the cords from my Cascade and Carter Atension releases!! The loop slips from the cascade too often but the carter is terrific even though I haven't quite got the sensitivity right. Things are looking good. Thanks again.

My 0.02 - I use a D-Loop, but have always shot Cascades with the rope on - it gives me less torque on the string, and also enables me to move my hand slightly without worrying about the string falling off the release.
Yeah whenever i looked over to Jims target there was hardly an arrow out of the 10.
And I came a well deserved last place with the my worst FITA ever.
Now if only we could have a fita tournament with nice weather.
