G'day everyone,
i have just received my new bow setup, i have changed from my (Expensive) compound set up which consisted of, a Hoyt ProElite XT2000 Cam.5, Cartel compound AC stabilizer, Cartels Triples, KK sight and tigerseye scope, Insatiable 2 release and Spigarellie drop away rest. in total that set up cost between $2000 - $3000 AUS, (not exactly sure, but i did some chopping and changing with the cams and limbs).
i personally loved shooting compound, but after a incident involving a staggered shooting line, a malfuntioning release aid and a real agressive bow i cant shoot witha release aid, i got in contact with professional compound arhcers who set me up with training routines, but after abotu 8 months i still couldnt shoot witha release aid...
so i decided to go recurve :D because im crap to average at best i decided NOT to go and buy somthing expensive and spectacular (thats for later in 2007) instead i jsut purchased, a Internature Longshot 70" 32# takedown recurve, Cartel strikers, W&W 360 tab, hoyt super stick on rest and a cartel expert plunger. (added to this is my KK sight). all thanks to the guys at Archery Supplies, that new set up is around $300 AUS. and i must say! i am EXTREMELY happy with it:D
so that is my story... the moral?... there is none, except that im and idiot
cheers NV

i didnt end up going down to the club to shoot (my mohters Bday) so instead i did about 50 arrows into my 5m target. im drawing about 33# and i start to tire after about 30 arrows. i need to cut about half and inch from the shafts as well. so in other words i have a LOT to do this week.

take yer time, recurve's probably a bit harder than compound, mainly because of technique. you no longer have the luxury of the release aid.
But welcome to the dark side :D

nah, im pretty sure ive posted this in another thread.. but anyways.
i was shooting a the NQ champs, and the feild we were shooting on (not my clubs one) had a staggered shooting line... i was shooting 90m, and there was a Veteran shooting 70m in front of me and abotu 5m to the right. i was shooting Spiral cams so it was fairly agressive, but i was drawing back and my release malfuntioned (solution 2.5) and released... the arrow came about 30cm from hitting teh guy in fornt of me, since then i have a stupid mental thing against release aids, i tried different ones, and taking a break, i even got a training thing fomr Clint Freeman to try sort it out. but everytime i go to anchor i filnch away from the release... to some people it sounds stupid, but untill they have themselves experienced somthign like that they wont know what it feels like. it took me abotu 10 months to finally stop trying to shoot compound (yes i tried finger, but my bows too short), since i didnt want to stop or jsut become a coach, i took up recurve, and am having a ball...
