Gooday,

I use the Stan micro II & III, both really nice simple BT releases. I do experience one problem that is more related to form. This is, that the release hook is very shallow. While drawing I sometimes put a counter clockwise twist in my draw arm to oppose the clockwise elbow and shoulder rotation in my bow arm. This causes the hook to come off the D Loop during the draw cycle. Ouch??.<<<>??

I have a short D Loop that does not help matters. I have taken out the core strands in my BCY D Loop material, this has helped. I did contact Copper John who very kindly said they would manufacture a hook with more HOOK. Exceptional service.

Has any one got some ideas to assist.

Many thanks..............Lawrence

I found this problem with a short D-loop too.

3 things you can do:

1. Get a longer D-loop (not recommended, especially if you are happy with your drawlength at the moment).

2. Get a Clint's Loopy - great little D-loop replacement which is served so it lasts longer too, and you can get them quite short (I've been able to get ones just as short as the shortest D-loop I could make)

3. Make an effort do shoot the release differently, that is, with your hand in a more horizontal position so that the hook does not twist the D-loop too much (which is presumably what is causing it to come off). This again is not a wonderful thing to do unless you are over twisting your hand in the wrong direction to start with.

I would recommend looking into getting a Clint's Loopy. PM him, he's in WA at the moment but he'll get back to you. They're great because no matter how much you twist your hand they twist with it.
