I would like to put a target i my garage at home but the maximum distance would be 6m
Is this worth it ,would arrow damage accure?
Which material would be best and how
1, Cling wrap
2, wet suit material
3, stramit
I shoot a 60lb Allegiance, nav arrows.
Not strammit, arrow damage won't occur if you have 6 different spots. ;)
And yes, it is worth it.

Hard to beat wetsuit material for stopping power, but you would need to
cut it into small bits and weed out the ones with material etc included.

Cling wrap and wet suit materials will be cool when compared to straw. My personal favourite's still rags in a bag. Easy to withdraw. I'm not so sure about wet suit material because I haven't tried it but cling wrap sucks onto the shafts a little too well.
Shouldn't be too difficult to get lots of cloth from tailors or shops making curtains and such.

I don't mean to push Pat's wheel barrow for him here, but he uses a Danage Target in the shed - it's been brilliant- no mess, easy storage, you can dismantle if you want to (not that I can ever get him to dismantle the bl**dy thing)and it's tidy.(keeps the missus happy:thumb:)
Just some of the reasons he's gone into supplying them.
Email him for more details when he gets back if your interested, coz I don't know the prices etc. (15th Nov) patsarchery@bigpond.com (patsarchery@bipond.com)

Here's to pushing Pat's wheelbarrow back.
They're rather costly plus you need to pay extra for the proprietary frame to hold those foam together.
BUT they work. :thumb:

Touche!!:)
I'm not the numbers person in our household I'm the cleaner!
My school uses the wetsuit option, and that stops the high poundage compound arrows too -- however -- it's darned messy to put together, and I'm still finding bits of wetsuit all over the place!!
(I know, I know - it's a man's shed, it's allowed to be messy!) :silly:

Thanks :thumb:
I was thinking of an 800mm target square by 300mm thick with wet suit or material like nappy liners (unused)

I have used wool bails packed with rags, wetsuit material, neo prine, plastic for years, it does get messy, and it does coat your arrow with un-wanted crap.
For the amount of shooting I do at home, I'm seriously looking at investing in a Danage Target.

I have to agree with that. Wet suit works but the floor is a mess....but if you mess it up enough your wife will see the sense in the Danage purchase:D

Forget the nappy liner idea. Our club tried that - not good, although those were outdoor field butts. The used shrink wrap option has worked really well for us and we are now considering converting the whole of our club outdoor target range to that type of butt.
No excess carbon shaft wear, easy drawing of the shaft, easy to repair/reinforce.

I made mine out of rages from lifeline, pretty cheap and stops the 60lb compound no worries at 8 metres.
Basically a timber frame with a timber back and shadecloth on the front, then stuffed full of rags.
You can also buy bales from lifeline for $50, they are pretty heavy though and I found the one I got was too tightly packed and my arrows fell out.
Would not use rags if in the weather though, would get bloody heavy.
