Good day,

Is there a guide to the thickness of launcher blade to get, relative to the arrow weight/draw weight you use?

My arrow weight is 250 grains @ 55lbs

I want to a trophy tacker spring steel single blade launcher.

thanks..............Lawrence

250gn is probably a bit too light to be shooting out of a 55lb bow ;)

The generally accepted minimum arrow weight (at 5gn/lb) for a 55lb bow is 275gn.

However, in either case (250gn or 275gn), a 0.008" e:Blade would be what I'd choose for that arrow weight.

Having said that, if you were going to shoot heavier arrows (around 340+gn) out of the same bow as well as your light arrows, I'd probably step up to a 0.010" blade ;)

Thanks for that,

I am using a wheel bow, and I am sure I am in the correct gn/lb, according to Easton charts. I hope I am reading them correctly

Spring Steel Launcher Data:

Total Arrow Weight:

Less than 300 Grains - Use .008 Launcher

Between 300 & 400 Grains - Use .010 Launcher

More than 400 Grains - Use .012 Launcher

Use the above rated launcher in either wide or narrow tongue groove as shown below:

Use Narrow launcher for arrows up to 23/64" diameter.

Use Wide launcher for arrows more than 23/64" diameter.

This is very interesting information.

As i have a bernadini blade launcher and it comes with the following blades

020
025
030

I have been using the 020 with 350 grain ACE's and getting results that are better then my drop away. It will be interesting to see what happens when i shift to an 010 (which is on the cards, along with a lot of other things).

What i find interesting is that they dont even provide an 010 blade.
