Looking through the AA Ranking Lists may give you some idea of those who have already shot the required scores to be able to nominate. Whether those archers choose to nominate is another thing altogether! :D

Yeh, 1350.

but 1350 is required for applying, realistically you'd probably need high 1300's (70's to 90's) to even be considered for the team.

Man i'd love to go! Its something i've set my sights on for the future. :snipersmile:

Depends on who has applied for the team and then who accepts a place on the team.
I remember for New York around 8 men refused the final spot on the team. After being asked twice they all refused so they had to go to the ranking list and invite from there.
Good thing they did too, or Clint may not be World Champion.

i am going to try next year before nationals, and hard training over x-mas holidays, since i 've only shot over 1350 (1361) once at the moment. but it was just a club shoot so it doesn't count. soppuse i see if i can doi it again soon. (sorry i suck at spelling)

Better to try and fail than not try at all.
I've only shot over 1350 in practise but will be giving it a go this year again.

Just in case archers other than Men's Compound read AF (:rolleyes: :p ) the range of qualifying scores to be shot by April 1 2007 is as follows:

MC = 1350
WC = 1330

Compound details: http://www.archery.org.au/lib/pdf/07compoundwac.doc
Jim Park may be able to clarify things (wearing his member of the Selection Committee hat) but I found the wording of the compound info a bit ambiguous and wonder if the Target or MP is more relevant:

2.6.1 Archers wishing to be considered for [compound] team selection must compete at the 2007 National Target Championships and the 2007 National Match Play Championships;
2.6.2 The scores from the two FITA target rounds will be used to rank the registered archers;
2.6.3 Following the 2007 Match Play Championships the AA Selection Committee shall nominate the 3 highest ranked registered archers in each eligible category to the AA Board for consideration.

Recurve details: http://www.archery.org.au/lib/pdf/07wtcrecurveprocedure.pdf

Despite what the online details say it was circulated by AA on 20/10/06 that there has been a drop in the required scores for recurves to be shot by January 14 2007 so they are now:

MR = 1270
WR = 1270

Ranking shoots for the recurve team will be held in Jan/Feb/Mar. This is the main chance for AUS to get some spots for Beijing in 2008 hence the drawn out process.

what if you a a junoir and u are shooting in both junoir and senoir fita rounds, can you shoot both individaul matchplys or do you have to shoot the senoir matchplay

2.6.1 Archers wishing to be considered for [compound] team selection must compete at the 2007 National Target Championships and the 2007 National Match Play Championships;

The wording taken from the AA information above only mentions the Nationals Matchplay, not the Junior Nationals Matchplay, so I think that the junior event would NOT meet the criteria. It could be worth checking with AA though.

Guy's on a good role so far, on saturday he shot a 1360 mens FITA in moderate wind and abtou 30degrees temp, he seems to be average about that kind of score recently...
GOOD WORK GUY
