People always tell me use the biggest fletch you can get. Supposed to striaghten the arrow up faster.
But I say who cares. Use what ever you want. I like my small vanes.

I use the same fletches and arrows indoors as outdoors and always get the same type scores. Little 2" Kurly Vanes. Only one set of limbs set at 43# pulled to 49# so fluffy feathers wouldn't do much to straighten the arrow anyway. :2gunfire:

Best Aust 1 indoor score with ACE's and 150 vanes: 300
Best Aust 1 indoor score with 2315's and 4" vanes: 297
Go figure
Eberbachl has shot 300 using 3" feathers on 2312's. End of the day it's what groups the best.
I would use vanes over feathers because they are more durable when being kicked around the back of the car.

I have alway used 4" fletches on 2312's. Being that most compounders shoot the largest spine arrow possible, it is most likely over spined for the bow....so by using a larger fletch( either plastic or feather) it helps to stabilize the shaft quicker in flight......with a 298(inner ten) it works for me.

damn what a beatin down subject. basically use what you want.
now if you were looking for more speed and more forgiving fletchings (due to possible rest contact) and one to give you less drag then feathers it is. weather is a factor (rain, snow) to the performance of em though. they say the longer the fletching with as much helical on it possible the better your arrow flight will be,specially at shorter distances, the more accurate you are.
i personally use 4 inch vanes with a 11 degree helical and couldnt be more happier with em. that is on my 2314's and acc's. i also use a mirage dropaway rest for total vane clearence.
hope this helps ya
may also want to check out http://www.trueflightfeathers.com/
