So what did we think this year?
The past year or two we've been investigating a change of format from the traditional (2xField, Clout, 2*Target, Matchplay) with varied success. This year was:
Marked Field
Clout followed by Unmarked 3D
Target (FITA)
Target (FITA 720) followed by Teams Matchplay
Individual Matchplay
My personal thoughts are that it is too compressed. Having one less day is not worth it from the athletes' point of view, even though there will be one less night of accomodation. The clout followed by the Unmarked Field was a killer, especially as they were at different sides of the city! Also having one less days means all the meetings get more cramped.
I'm a big fan of the FITA + 70m round for the target. Also, good to see Teams' Matchplay run well.
Personally I'd like to see the current format kept, but clout having a day of its own - those who don't want to shoot it can have a rest day, and have the AGM and Athlete's meeting in the afternoon.
