View Full Version : junior nats matchplay
I noticed a while back that the U16 boys and girls division were permitted to have their own matchplay at perth, but when you would look at the national competition form it only lists open and U18 matchplay, how would we cadets notify the organisers asking them that we would like to attend the cadet matchplay?
ask purple hats, he's been put in charge of the matchplay it seems. ill try to get a hold of him if he doesnt come on here.

Yup. There will be matchplay for U18 and U16 archers. If it is at all possible the younger age groups will get a shot at it too, depending on numbers and target space.
I'm doing my best to ensure that the juniors play a large role in the matchplay event, as it is us who need the most experience and practice at it.
thanks purple hats but i was also wondering how we go about notifying the organisers that we would like to attend the matchplay when their isn't an option on the entry form?

Oh, good point...
Errm, will have a chat to the rest of the committee about that one - pity we just had a meeting.
Give me a bit of time and I'll get back to you.

Can I tick the matchplay box and write a little note saying "Purplehats said I could and I'm paying so there better be u/16 matchplay!"
?

Right,
If you are a junior and would like to compete in the matchplay, the process is quite simple.
Simply tick the box indicating that you DO want to participate in matchplay. If you are ranked in the top 8 in your division in the target event, then you will be able to compete in the matchplay event. If you don't want to shoot the matchplay... just tick the "no" box - I would recommend that everyone takes the opportunity presented to them and try to compete in the matchplay part of the competition - it will be a very worthwhile experience.
There is NO CHARGE for the matchplay event, so including extra money is not needed.
There, what was so hard about that?

There IS an option on the entry form - you may have an incomplete one, the correct one can be found here:

Under "Combined Nationals Entry Form"
thanks a bunch purple hats :)
