Well, it's raining! Go figure, hasn't rained here in week.
We may have to move it indoors, and fight with the Beginners course.

An excellent day Marcus, enjoyed it a lot (despite the hurricane).

For those too lazy to look the Sherbrooke Team defeated DVA TEC in the finals 236 - 231 in gusty cold conditions.

I think we have a formula that worked well, and kept all the teams involved right through. We could quite readily cater for more teams, and it is sufficient shooting to be quite a good day. I was impressed with how quickly the archers got used to it and how they tried different tactics (the Sherbrooke team, for example, experimented with our archers shooting in different orders - we decided that it was best with Zoe first, Jim second and Bryce third).
Things that impressed me:
- The number of times Bryce rescued our score, and how well Zoe shot.
- Bryce's three X's for one end.
- Sandra's very impressive 30 in the quarter finals, followed up by a 28, with a recurve in the wind.
- That it was obvious that everyone was enjoying themselves.
- That no one lost an arrow through running out of time (and the number of times Sandra shot an arrow in the last second).
- We were pretty happy with our score of 256 in the semi final match.

Great day, thanks Marcus and DVA.
Very fun, made all the funnerer as we won.*

Sometimes archery gets a little boring.
But standing right behind two Moorabin recurvers today - shooting 10 after 10 in a blinding gale - well, that was beautiful. That was archery.
That was lovely to watch. :D :D :D

* If we'd won twice, we'd be wonnerer (Dr. Suess would like that one I'm sure :-? ).
