Four clubs have banded together to create a new interclub competition - The South East Queensland 3D Invitational Series.
It is a 4 event competition designed to allow even the average shooters a chance to pick up prises and trophies. We are getting sponsors onboard (one major is a 3D target) plus another couple of great donations.

There will be four shoots for the year with the last being a 2 day event like 3DAAA. Anyone can come and shoot however they must be a club member of either Caboolture, Ipswich, Nth Albert or Hinterland for their points to count for the final trophies and top tens.

I have donated three perpetual shields for top 10 Sighted, Barebow and best club. So who is going to be the first to get their names on them?

First shoot at North Albert Field Archers this Sunday 4th Feb 2007.
Come along and enjoy the fun.

This is what we have been waiting for in Queensland.
There is over $1200 worth of prizes to be given away donated by

Neil Digweed
Casino Archery Supplies
Canga Archery Supplies
Gecko Archery Supplies
Darryl Reeks Archery Supplies
Abbey Archery Supplies.

This is the first time that so many people have banded together to take Q.L.D ahead in archery. There are tropies for 1st 2nd and 3rd of each division at every shoot.
Jacqui Callon is the Shoot Director for the series and will be posting more detailed information soon.
2007 is the year archery takes a massive step forward in Austrailia to promote the game by giving back to the archers thanks to the generosity of our sponsors.

Hi Clark,

The first shoot is actually tomorrow at the North Albert club. After that there is one at the Hinterland club on May 20th, then Ipswich July 1st and the 2 day final is at the caboolture club August 4th & 5th. You can join any club you like to be part of this shoot. It sounds like you are coming from down south, so perhaps the Hinterland club on the Gold Coast would be the most appropriate.

Well I think the new course setter learnt, he can't set a course like that, when there's bad shots like me around :( . He apparently, is going to move some of the course to the other side of the road.
Congratulation 2dogs, for coming 3rd,I thought you had your name on 4th. :)
But what a great day, with 120 odd shooters, I think we must have had the whole Hinterland and Cabulture clubs turn up, gread atmosphere, looking forward to the next one.

Congratulations to Team Gecko Archery

MBR Division

2nd - Greg Noble
3rd - Brian Baker

:D

Was an excellent day and I walked the rounds with my 9 year old daughter who got 1st CUBF. It is good to go to the events and see such good turnouts.

I personally had a sensational day - didn't lose an arrow or break one either :silly:

How's this for a deal, Vortex are giving away an $870 pair of bino's as a lucky door prize. So every time you turn up to an Invitational shoot you go into the draw for the bino's.
Four chances for four shoots.
The future of Archery in Oz keeps geting better and better

Well, I had a totally cr** day as far as my shooting is concerned, but you get that when you put new strings on your bow and don't shoot them in LOL Think I lost one arrow and smashed another when it wrapped around a tree :( The strings didn't take long at all to settle in though, perhaps 30 - 40 arrows and now they are great! It all came back by the 3rd round and I managed to pull a 3rd place....don't know how that happened!!

It was a great turn out and it would be great to see that many again at the Hinterland round. I won't be posting scores, as we'd like to keep them a secret until the final. That way nobody knows who is coming first for the overall trophy and it will be a bit of a surprise on the day.

Wareagle - next time I'll give you $50 not to miss 2Dogs :p
Which target was that on by the way? I know there were a couple of iffy ones, but I think Istvan has learnt from that and thankfully nobody was hurt. Overall, he set some good courses....tough for a first one back...but they got you thinking and you had to be on your game....which I think a lot of us weren't LOL
