hey,

just want an opinion on hunting shafts.

i shoot target and hunt, but i recently got a mathews LX and i was wanting to get a shaft that i could shoot both with. But im not sure that the carbon express shafts have a arrow that will suit both, whereas im sure the goldtip shafts would work in both situations.

Wats your advise???

It doesn't matter what arrow brand you go with, your hunting arrows will probably be too heavy for target work, esp IFAA. Maybe a dual purpose and tough arrow would be the Navigator FMJ

The problem is if you get a good target arrow, they'll be too expensive to shoot(read loose) in the scrub. If you go with the 'one arrow' option you'll probably end with an alright arrow for both but not great at either.

Have a look at Carbon Tech Panthers, they might do what you want for a reasonable price.

each arrow holds its own if you shoot it correctlyGold tips are great value for money, but so are carbon express, it depends on how much cash you want to spend. i shot GOLD TIPS for a long time and found them to be very good, so i my eyes i would go for the gold tips.

Have a look at GoldTip Ultralight. Very light, and quite cheap, for the kind of arrow that is.

GoldTip for me all the way, but I am not a target shooter, I use a thick foam shot cube in the back yard for my practise, and use Gold tip Hunter 5575.

Works out at $6.20 per arrow including target tip all made up and ready to go.I just screw in a Tusker when it is time to hunt.

Am off this weekend in pursuit of deer and goats on a private block.

The farmer is happy with a dozen Speights for access......a small price to pay for a chance to hunt.

I know some guys who shoot CX maximas for both hunting and IFAA
Haven not tried them myself but is supposedly a good all round carbon arrow.

Carbon exspress terminators are a good arrow i've used them going on 2 yrs for both target and hunting. If u shoot around 70# pounds the 6075 would suit or the 4560 for the lighter # bows there good value. And tough i've shot 2 buff and lots of fallow, goats and some african animals aswell with them.
