Who is attending the indoor nationals, And do you know any good places to stay.(Motels etc.)
Is anyone from Queensland going and would they like to share accomodation.
Maybe us Forum members could book out a motel somewhere :)

The South Australians run an excellent tournament. It is certainly worth attending. I definitely will.

Just e-mailed the tourist info centre in adelaide, will get some brochures and maps sent up next week. We'll see what we can organise.
I much prefer to stay in a motel rather than camping or staying in a cabin.
there's nothing like a hot shower and air conditioning.
At the World Masters Games we stayed at a Motor Inn, It was booked out with archers staying there for the Games. It was great to sit outside your room having a coffee and telling stories with everyone else about your day's shooting.
It was good to mix with archers from all over Australia.

Indoor Nationals are June 28/29 2003
There is a link on the Indoor website about accommodation:
http://au.geocities.com/adelaide_nats/2003indoor.html
The closest caravan parks (decent ones with hot showers I assure you), are at:

Spot,
probably flying.
If your thinking of driving to Adelaide from the Northern states, why don't you leave a bit earlier and shoot the Mountain Archers Indoor on the way through to Adelaide. Good tournament practise for the Nationals. :D

As all of you interested in the 2003 Indoor Nationals know this is being held at the Parkes Centre about 10-12 kms North of Adelaide on the 28th and 29th June( I know that you guys inSydney and Melbourne think that is still the inner city precinct) . If enough of you show an interest in attending it I would be more than happy to make some accomodation arrangement for you at a conveniently located motel. I would need to know the number of attendee's ( that includes family members,) The appx amount of tarrif you would be prepared to pay (you should be looking at somewhere between $60/70 for a double room at a budget motel and about $70/100 for something with a bed (only joking) :) That price would apply to a motel with a bit more class and closer to the city. as most of you would only be here for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday night) there would probably be little wrong with a budget motel on the correct side of town to give easier to the venue)
It would be easier if someone in each state got together the numbers
involved and let me have these details at the earliest possible time . I would be only to happy to help
Clare Barnes will talk to Marcus about an AF dinner on Sunday night for those who will still be in Adelaide.
AP great idea :) Could you let me know if you find some places and prices and such
thanks :)

There should be no problem finding a place (or places) dependent upon the number of archers and family coming. I will post some recomendations in the next few days. On reflection it would be great to have everyone housed in the same complex but would be interested in your ( and anyone elses thoughts on this ). In fact it sounds so good I might leave home for the weekend :D
It would be helpful to have the numbers or at least an appx idea as soon as possible so that I can get my travel agent started on negotiating discounts etc.
Sounds cool :) I'd be looking for a place for 3 nights, friday, saturday and sunday for 2 people at this stage maybe 1 depends if my girl can get time off . I'll be driving so maybe a on site carpark. Never been to Adelaide before so I don't know prices but the max I would want to go is about 120-150 per night. But I think the most important question is what'll be the indoor nats pub ! :)

Well Gareth you are in luck. My travel agent has just got back to me with the following recomendations.
1) Lindy Lodge on Torrens Road Woodvile ( about 10/15 minutes from the venue. The tarrif is $70 per night for a double room. This double room can take up to 4 persons and there is a charge of $12 per night for the other 2 people. In other words 3 people can use a room for a total of $82 per night ($27.33) each ... or 4 people for $94 per night for a total of $23.50 per person per night
2) Sombrero Motor Inn on Main North Road (also 10/15 minutes from the venue at $110 per night per double room. This includes breakfeast.
3)Scottys Motel also on Main Noth Road at $90 a double room per night or $80 per night for a single room.
Only Lindy Lodge(at this stage) is offering the $12 per night for the 3rd and 4th guest.
I am inclined to recomend Lindy Lodge.
As far as the local pubs and entertainment venues (yes we have some of these in Adelaide) are concerned I will make this the subject of a further post.
If anyone is bringing wives/lovers/children etc and these do not want to attend the archery but would prefer to do other things ( such as visit our wine growing areas of the Barossa Valley / Mclaren Vale, do a tour of the city (should take about 10 minutes if you get to see everything),macrame classes or basket weaving, lunch at some of our fabulous restaurants or whatever please let me know and I will see what I can do to arrange it. ( I think Clare mentioned something about her running a creche at her place over the weekend if any one wanted to get away from the ankle biters ( if you believe that you will believe anything!) : :multi: :multi: :multi: :multi:

Having a 7 month old baby at home is your reason for organising all this Ron?? :o Just so you have an excuse to escape for the weekend??
A creche at my place is NOT an option guys! Ron's mansion is far better equipped right down to the chandelier in the cellar to hang the little darlings from whilst you drink the cheap wines in there........and Ron needs a new cleaner - the present one leaves the bottles all dusty and old looking :P

Ron has promised not to spend more than 10 minutes of any given hour showing you photos of his baby  so you should get thinking about his offer of arranging accommodation.
It may seem early but the event is only 3 months away and with the Outdoor Nats in the meantime, things will get forgotten. Entries have to be in to your RGB Secretary by 21 April or else there is a late fee. :(

I have entered, but there is a possibility that I will have to be in Munich on the weekend of the Indoor Nationals. Don't think my bow will shoot that far.

Archerypark,
Any chance of a lift from the airport on Friday 27th june, before the indoor nationals?
How far from the airport to Angle park?
If it is to far, I may have to hire a car for the weekend. Just to get around.
Thanks,
Jay.

I still need to know how far it is from the Adelaide airport to Angle Park?
Can anyone help me.
would it cost much for a Taxi or a shuttle bus.?
Clare Barnes
21-04-2003, 01:40 PM
Its about 10k to Angle Park I think. Doubt shuttle buses would be heading there but a taxi should be about $20 or less. :)
I'll talk to you during the Nats in Brisbane - when I work out when other people are arriving to stay I may be able to help out as far as collecting you from the airport....... :D
