On the forum there seems to be a lot about Hoyt, PSE, And Matthews bows, but I have heard very little about Darton.
I tried out a Darton Maverick at an ABA branch shoot today and was extremely impressed. The bow was smooth, well balanced and sat very well. Have any other forum members had much to do with Dartons? If so how do you think they go in comparison to the other makes such as Hoyt, Matthews, etc?

Never shot one and never had a desire too. Their CPS cam would be good to try, but then I'ld rather a Hoyt.
try noel, i think he was once a darton pro shooter...matt

I have shot Dartons for six years. First with an Executive and with Mavericks for the last five years. They are very good bows. The CPS cam system combines the advantages of one and two cam bows (normal length string, fast and easy to tune) I would definitely recommend them as excellent value as they are less costly than many bows that don't shoot as well.

Matt is correct enseth, I shot for darton some 20 odd years ago, Their product was good then and still is, They have a great range of target bows that adhere to target tradition, eg long ata and high brace without sacrificing speed. Their budget line also offers good value for money.
20 years ago, !!heck!! hoyt didnt even make compounds then LOL talk about new kids.
Always remember enseth if you want the best shoot Mathews.

Thanks for the comments. After shooting the Maverick I just had to have one ...so I got one ...and I couldn't be happier. It is steady and sits well. It appears to be extremely forgiving and is really smooth. My accuracy has increased in leaps and bounds and my groups are tighter than ever..............And all this despite it not being a matthews or a hoyt! I am really looking forward to the ABA nationals over Easter to give it a work out. Now my biggest fear is that I will put too much pressure on myself and not give the bow its best chance to perform.
