Any idea who has actually registered to try for the compound team?
All I know so far is that Leigh Cornish has registered and that Bryce Lee is not planning to register.

Looks like Leigh might be going by himself.
I don't know of anyone going from up here.
Would it be a good thing to be in New York in the current political climate :( .
One would hope that it makes no difference at all, but I just can't help wondering.

Hi Jim
I understand that the following have registered:
Dennis Carson
Brian Politis
David Rowson
Doug Currall
Daniel Aylett
Adam Richards
I spoke to Brian and he is likely to withdraw.
Thats all I know at the moment. I wonder who the team Manager (coach) will be?

Any idea about the ladies, David?
My guess is that although Leigh has registered he probably will not go.

I understand Sue Martin from Adelaide will probably nominate again.

Jim
I can tell you that the list so far is
Madeleine Ferris
Marie Hulbert
Mandy McArdle
Mary Chidlow
Pam Kirkpatrick
It will be interesting to see if the ladies can win a medal in the teams event, after being so close for the past two WC.
Sue Martin, with a last name like that she's sure to kick ass ;)

Does anyone know if the members of the Recurve WAC team will be present for the whole of the Nationals? I ask because it was stated that they would be competing at the 1st European Grand Prix in Croatia, and that even starts on the 6th of May.

I'll confirm it when a certain person wakes up :o  but I gather most do not get there til just before the Target and leave on May 2 directly for Croatia.....not sure what time on the 2nd they leave though.
Update - I was wrong :-? - the WAC recurve team set off for Croatia on Saturday May 3.

Thanks Clare. Wow, that's not much time to recover from the flight. Do you know if they are staying in Europe for the French Grand Prix, or are they flying home then flying back again?
I've no particular reason to know - just the curious cat in me. :D

They come home (Canberra anyway  !) in between all the trips. Then France, then Korea, then New York, then Athens - and yes, travelling becomes an absolute bore I gather!! :o
The number of weeks at school in the next term is not high either - or are those merely the concerns of a parent who realises archery is never going to earn a son any money???
very true clare :( I wonder if James will be trying out for the team ?

No, not trying this time (cost is too high). However, I am shooting well enough for me to have thought about it quite carefully.

Pity you're not trying Jim with the scores you are shooting at present.
I guess until there is more funding for Compounds there is never going to be a guarantee that the best possible Compound team is representing Australia. :(
Ok, I accept that even with full funding there is not an absolute guarantee of the best archers going, but it is more likely than with minimal funding currently available.
